The Missionaries

Last week the ward missionaries asked Kim and I if we would mind feeding the full time missionaries. We accepted and this past Thursday we had them over. We have never had this opportunity before so we were very excited. I picked up Elders' Aisen and Tuia at their apartment and brought them over to the house. Elder Aisen was from New York and didn't seem to care for Utah very much, he was critical of Utah and especially of Utah Mormons and how they go inactive. Elder Tuia is from Samoa and only had a couple months left before he goes home. Kim made chicken roll-ups for them, they had chicken and cream cheese in the middle, we found out that Elder Tuia is lactose intolerent but like a seasoned Elder he ate more than everybody else. Dinnner went well and it was very nice to have their spirit in our home. The highlight of the night was when we were all eating and Kim asked them where they were from. Elder Tuia replied that he is from Samoa. Kim proceded to say "your from Samoa, thats cool, so do you speak Tongan?"

That's funny! I probably would have thought the same, but I had a friend growing up that was from Samoa.

That's alright, when people find out that I lived in Uruguay for two years they are shocked to find out I spoke Spanish. Apparently there's a misconception out there that Uruguay is actually in Eastern Europe.
