Health wise

So, Dad, Amy, Jill and I have been working with a personal trainer twice a week for a few months. Progress is slow, but we have made improvements. The one who is most noticeably trim is Dad. We have recently discovered that our diet plays a huge part in this as well so would be most interested is any quick and easy, healthy snack, breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas, that also taste good. We came across a great burger recipe that was a big hit with everyone.

Best Summer Burger: 1 egg, 1 lb lean ground beef, 1/2 c. oats, 1/3 c. diced onion, 1/2 c. chopped spinach (we used frozen), 2 T. reduced-fat shredded Mexican-blend cheese (we also added Spade L seasoning). Mix everything and form into patties. Place burgers in non stick skillet over med-high heat (we cooked on barbecue). cook for about 6 minutes on each side. serve on whole grain bun. 321 cal. per serving. Tip: If you make an indentation with your finger in the middle of your pattie (before cooking) it cooks better and doesn't shrink.

We welcome any suggestions. I love you all! Mom

Utah State

This is Justin and I at a dance on Halloween @ Utah State. Peter thinks the girl in this pic (me) looks nothing like me. I think its because it is a good picture and petaman is used to seeing me fatt* and prego~ lol

Travis Justin Clark

This is our little pig. He grunts until we pick him up. He's not a real big fan of crying :) (great for his mommy). During our lectures at school I would lean over to Justin and call him by his extremely cool name given by me, Mr. Smelly Good Pants. Now I call Travis Prince Smelly Good Pants. Its not often that a Prince is born to such commoners but we feel so blessed to have him:)

Peter's Bulging Muscles

Ever since I started working out with Jay at Excel my muscles just started bulging out. I workout 4 days a week so I wouldn't want to mess with me with those big guns if I were you. I'm supposed to be benching 100 pounds before Jay is home from Africa or else he's going to hurt me, but ever since I started working out he's probably going to be to afraid of me. I really don't think he will try and hurt me if I can't lift a 100 before he's home just looking at me. He would probably run away. His mistake for taking me to work out so much. THAT'S WHAT I CALL DEFINITION!

One of the many great Peterisms

Mom, Dad, Peter, David and me were on our way home from visiting the grandparents and Dad let Peter drive in my little Honda Accord. We were driving on Orchard Drive when Peter started to switch lanes. Now he did a really good job except that he didn't check his blindspot. So I told him that he needed to check his blindspot and he had a very unusual response to that. He turned on the lights. Now it was about 8:30 PM so it was still light outside and lights were definately not needed, but Peter's special way of thinking thought if it is a blindspot then I can't see it so I should turn on the lights. What would we do without our cute, little Peter?

Random Thomas Things

Thomas is really digging this moving thing. Now anytime we are driving past houses, Thomas wants to go to our house (and he doesn't mean the apartment). His latest fascination is with all of the boxes that are infesting our living room. The other day I came home from work and he had to show me what he had done with a bunch of empty boxes. He lines them up and sits in the front box and calls it his train, "Choo Choo"! I took this picture and he's sitting here staring at it going, "Daddy, train!".

Today after church I was working with Thomas on his full name. Right now if you ask him what his name is, he'll tell you "Thomas". I was trying to get him to answer the question, "What is your full name?". He finally started to get it and say, "Thomas Michael Clark". Then, just for kicks, I asked him what my name is. He thought about it and said cautiously, "Daddy Michael Clark?" Smart kid, that's all I have to say.

Peter's Pet Peeve

Each week when I go to mutual I always bring my nice indoor basketball. Then when we are outside some of my leaders will ask to see it and I will pass it to them, and then they just start dribbling it, and I don't like to tell those older guys that it's an indoor ball and I don't like it bounced outside. It just drives me crazy because I take good care of my nice indoor basketball, and other are careless of my prized possession.

I don't see the resemblance

For as long as I can remember I have been called Amy just about as much as I am called my own name. Parents, siblings, neighbors, grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousins are all guilty of doing this. I am not saying that being called Amy is a bad thing, in fact, I don't even correct people when they make the mistake. For example, Amy gave a talk in church on Father's Day and afterwards people were coming up to me and saying, "Good talk Amy." My response of course was thanks! It doesn't annoy me at all that people get confused between Amy and me, I just don't see the resemblance.

Softball Woes

So my company sponsors a recreational slow-pitch co-ed softball team. We just finished up our season tonight. We only lost one game the entire season; unfortunately it was the championship game. The highlights for me this season were as follows: not striking out; throwing out 2 runners from the outfield at home plate; having Thomas come to the games and be totally obsessed with the bats and balls. Luckily, even though we lost the championship game, it was just slow-pitch softball (althought a couple of guys on my team might need to be on suicide watch tonight). If I could only get to the point where I'm not winded running the bases, or from the outfield to the dugout ... Thank goodness for the rec center that is two minutes from our new house.

Watermelon

Thomas has discovered watermelon this summer. He LOVES it and when we bought some at the store he just couldn't wait to eat it. After I took this picture he asked me for a knife so he could cut it up.

Bleeding Us Dry

So we announced last week in church that we are moving mid-August. Since we made that annoucement, I've been asked to speak in church (4th time in 2 years), I've been asked to give an overview of our ward mission plan during the 5th Sunday combined meeting, Heather and I have been asked to play a piano duet in sacrament meeting next week, we've had to give a youth fireside, and I am still teaching Sunday School two more times.

Next time we move, we won't tell anyone and we'll just leave quietly.

Up & Running

Some of you might have seen the blog that Heather's family keeps. It's been really fun and it's a great way to share pictures with everyone or random thoughts. Spencer and Kim suggested we start a Clark Family Blog. So here we are. Let me or Heather know if you need any help getting things setup so you can post. This will only be fun if everyone attempts to contribute something every once and awhile. I'll try to add a new poll every week, let me know if you have any suggetions for topics.
