A NEW way of TalKiNg

Ella Jane is becoming very smart. We are taking a baby sign language class. Ella doesn't pay much attention ...she has discoverd that she can take other childrens's toys and play with them...she also likes to follow this little girl Sydney who is about 17 months old....Ella loves to play with her toys and finds herself taking them and not giving them back. Ella doesn't like it when the little girl takes her toys. I guess this is a great time to teach her how to share!
The best news it Ella has finally picked up on one sign...that is the word more!! I think by the end of the 6 weeks she may have a few more signs.
This has been a great opportunity for me and Spencer to teach Ella....although we find ourselves making the signs to each other and Ella laughs because she thinks it is funny! oh well!

Good for you! I never got around to the sign language thing but when he was in daycare they did a lot of sign language and he really picked up on it. He forgot everything almost immediately after but every once in a while he still does the sign for "all done" when he's done eating.

Ok, funny, so Mike just read my comment and he was like "he does a sign?" I said "yeah, when he waves his hands and says 'all done'" Mike said, "oh, I just thought he was weird." It made me laugh

Very cool. We had friends in our old ward that did that with both of their little ones. Their little girl was really good at using signs. One time I was watching the little girl (18 months) and her older brother (3 years) while Heather and their mom went to make a visit to someone. It's a good thing that the 3 year old was there, because he did all the intrepreting for me. That day I learned the signs for fish, car, and hurt.
